Rosa Torres
"Memories Shared"

Maria's favorite bracelet.
Story shared by life long friend Ana Lopez
My name is Ana Lopez and Maria was my best friend....what do the kids say...she was my BFF. When Rosa got her first teaching job, I was over the moon. We’d been best friends since we were kids, sharing everything. We kept each others childhood secrets and biggest dreams. I knew how hard she’d worked to make this happen, and I wanted to give her something meaningful to celebrate.

I found this bracelet, I thought it was so her, strong, kind of different, fun piece. When I gave it to her, I hugged her and said, “This is to remind you of the strength it took to get here—and to enjoy every step of the journey ahead.”
She slipped it on right then and there, and I still remember the look in her eyes. Whenever we’d meet up, I’d see it on her wrist, she would have that bracelet on. It had become apart of her personal style. I knew it was now something special to her. It meant the world to me to give her something that reminded her our friendship and the love that kept us going, no matter what else was going on in life.
